382 days ago, I started a blog of my experience studying for, taking, and waiting for the results of the July 2007 California Bar Exam.

Now, after having vanquished that particular monster, I have officially begun studying for the July 2008 Oregon Bar Exam!  So, when better to start a new blog than tonight?

It is a sweltering sweatbox here in California – has been all day.  Just another great reason to get the hell out of here and back up to Portland!  I took a hot bottle of gatorade out of my car about an hour ago, and put it in the fridge.  It’s only just reached room temperature, so I switched it to the freezer.  Maybe that will do something to ease the heat…

I won’t be studying alone.  She’ll be studying with me.  That’ll make things easier.  But, in truth, I’m not concerned with the difficulty of the Oregon Bar.  Having already passed down here, and taking into account the much higher passing-rate in Oregon, my approach to studying this time is going to rest in between “nonchalant” and “mildly interested.”

I’m going with another round of Adaptibar, which can’t be beat for MBE prep (and at $195 for a repeater, who can complain?).  And, for the essays, I’m getting myself hooked up with the Oregon-specific BAR/BRI materials, in spite of my disdain for Bar/BRI.

I’m going to do MBE benchmarks for all six subjects, just like I did back in 2007.  So far, I’ve done crim law, and benched at 75%.  So far so good ;)
